Tank Cad Designer

Pala Interstate LLC is a fast growing and most successful Tank construction and Tank Maintenance company. Our home office is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Pala has projects throughout the Southeast United States.

We are seeking to add an exceptional Cad Designer to our team in our Baton Rouge office. This is a staff/hourly position. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

? Design API 650/653 storage tanks. (knowledge of API 650/653 preferred, but not required)
? Supervise and train new hire draftsman on all aspects of the fabrication/design process.
? Work directly with engineers, project managers, estimators, field supervisors, and clients to obtain the necessary information needed to complete drawing requirements
? Speed and accuracy should be at a moderately high level.
? Math skills required (trigonometry and algebra)
? Perform field engineering when required
? Create shop fabrication drawings from information received from the field.
? Estimating, attend engineering meetings (Post Award, Pre-construction, and Post Construction), and complete final client as-built packages.
? Must acquire a working knowledge of auto cad blocks and layer control when drawing.
? Follow redline pickups through multiple pages/details and recognize the impact created by the change.
? Create drawings for shop/outside fabrication.
? Material take-off and issuing material requisitions.
? Perform bid walks for prospective tank work.
? Ability to work independently with multiple tasks.
? Ability to meet given deadlines.
? Must be willing to work periodic overtime as required.

Qualified Candidates should possess an Associated Degree or Vocational Technical Certificate or equivalent field experience. Must hold and maintain a valid Drivers License and meet appropriate motor vehicle insurance requirements.
