Technical Services Manager

Job Summary: 

 

The Technical Services Manager will have a dual responsibility:

?  The direct oversight of the Ready Mix QC/QA activities to ensure customer satisfaction, compliance with the norms and specifications at the minimum cost.

?  The coordination of all QC/QA activities across the Region to ensure compliance with all specifications across the Region and the best utilization of the resources.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  Ready Mix Divisional Responsibilities:

? Provide leadership and management for the QC/QA personnel in the Ready Mix division

? Responsible for managing the inspection, field and laboratory testing of concrete and related materials.

? Assist Sales with product related issues such as, project specs, product submittals, etc.

? Maintain current and historical product performance records.

? Investigate and resolve material issues within Aggregate Industries NER and with its customers.

? Develop sales and customer training programs.

? Other duties as assigned.

 

  Regional Responsibilities:

? Coordinate QC/QA departments of the product lines within the Region.

? Ensure Compliance with all specifications included in all contracts for all product lines

? Review specifications prior to contracting for major projects

? Monitor product claims management across the Region

? Develop, implement and maintain the training master plan regarding materials technology for the NER.

? Track Performance and optimize raw material costs while meeting the specifications of the contracts by implementing the latest statistical analysis and technologies.  Propose raw material sourcing

? Build relationships with suppliers and define possible partnerships

? Develop and manage the budget for Technical activities.

? Proactive involvement and coordination with local and national related associations.

? Analyze the benefits of the Implementation ISO 9001:2000 concepts through out the region.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

   

The Technical Service Manager, reporting to the VP/GM of Ready Mix, is directly responsible for the overall direction of the Ready Mix Division QC personnel. This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

In addition, this person coordinates the QC Managers of the other divisions (who report directly to the General Managers) and reports directly to the Regional President for all Regional matters.
