Application Developer X2
Description:
An Application Developer X2 facilitates the definition of solutions to meet business requirements and works to develop new and enhance existing business applications. They work in a leadership role to understand business direction/needs and apply this knowledge to determine design strategies, make recommendations for implementation of new systems and technologies, and facilitate the design and implementation of enterprise business applications. They interact with leaders in functional areas to plan and prioritize work and ensure delivery of business application support, consulting, and implementation, as well as coordinate the completion of work sent offshore. They participate in long term systems planning and may provide technical leadership and/or management for medium-sized projects. The Application Developer X2 Technical Role is focused on technical leadership rather than people management. Directly and actively supports IT and Application Development vision and direction.
Manage all aspects of software testing including unit testing, system testing, and integration testing and overall quality of applications.
Act as a role model and positive influence for associates in support of firm, practice, unit, and customer missions, objectives, goals, and values.
Package, manage, and review work done by offshore teams.
Ensure ongoing support for applications in one or more business areas.
Train and mentor less experienced associates in both technical and business domains.
Ensure team compliance with standards, procedures, and controls in a Sarbanes-Oxley influenced environment.
Continually improve personal and team capacity to deliver high quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Ensure continuous awareness and consideration in all efforts that the investments made for Hewitt Associates support business priority and urgency while, balancing quality, value, time to market, and long-term cost of ownership.
Persistently works to improve personal, team and solution efficiencies, maintaining quality and effectiveness.
Develops associate skills in application-related processes/functions, and both personal and associate effective working knowledge of business unit functions, direction and operating considerations.

Qualifications:
Education, Certifications, and Work Experience Required
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
3 or more years of leadership experience in application development (e.g. project management, technical team leadership or recognized technology domain expertise)
7-11 years experience working with a variety of technology disciplines (e.g. programming languages, operating systems, database management systems, data warehousing)
Recognized expertise in one or more business areas and/or technology disciplines
Demonstrated ability to translate/communicate complex concepts to peers and business partners
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks/projects occurring at once
Demonstrated ability to leverage and mentor others through technical team leadership
Advanced degree in Business or Information Technology preferred
Knowledge Base Required
Proficient in all phases of the Application Development Lifecycle
Expertise specific to the particular technologies used by the area
