Assistant Public Relations Consultant

Description:
The PR consultant in this position is responsible for working closely with the Business Group PR leaders to develop and execute media strategies that promote and protect the company s reputation, business performance and expertise/services holistically. These strategies need to be results-oriented and integrated/coordinated with PR initiatives in other practice areas, major regions (i.e. Europe, Asia Pacific), as well as with other communication disciplines including marketing, internal communications and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships and achieve results with key business, trade and vertical industry media. The majority of this will be accomplished through proactive outreach. The consultant also will be expected to respond to incoming media requests
- Write key communications that effectively position the company and its services and areas of expertise particularly press releases, media advisories/alerts, bylined articles and pitches
- Develop and implement an awards strategy that promotes the company, services and thought leadership
- Manage and conduct business and trade/vertical media interactions
- Coach leaders and consultants on effective media interactions
- Assist with communications for major announcements/developments
- Assist with communications for any situation/issue that puts the company or Business Groups at risk
- Assist with corporate communications and events

Qualifications:
Required Skills
- Proficient in PR technical skills particularly writing, and media relations
- Ability to build/maintain relationships and delivering results with business and trade media
- Strong project management/organizational skills
- Client service focus and capabilities
- Ability to partner with PR colleagues and other communication disciplines (i.e. marketing/internal comm/IR)
- Ability to manage a variety of projects at one time

Experience/Education Requirements
A minimum of two to three years of public relations experience is required, preferably in a corporate or agency setting. Business-to-business experience a plus. BA in a related discipline required.
