Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, and/or equivalent experience/background
1-3 years of experience in communications in corporate, consulting or agency settings
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications skills
Advanced level of writing and editing experience in a professional setting
Word-processing, spreadsheet software, and working knowledge of presentation software (i.e., Microsoft Word & Project, PowerPoint, Excel)
Familiarity with internet and experience using it in research
Demonstrated professional, courteous customer service and interpersonal skills
Proven project management and excellent organizational skills
Basic presentation and meeting facilitation skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities, and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines
Ability to translate technical information into simple language
Creative, energetic and a demonstrated team player
High-level of attention to detail
Proven analytical ability
Proven self-starter with desire to learn and accept new challenges
Demonstrated adaptability to change while striving to improve processes and efficiencies,
Able to work overtime as required, to meet client deadlines.

Position Overview


This is a consulting position for the Greater New York (NY, NJ, and CT) Communications Practice with primary responsibilities including: writing employee communication material, proofreading, project management for small to mediumclients, and, developing proposals and presentations.


This position requires scheduling flexibility and availability. Client requests and deadlines may require up to 50 - 60 hours/week, (including some evening and weekend time). Candidates for this position can be physically located in New York, New Jersey or Stamford, CT.

Responsibilities

Writing, editing, and proofreading employee communications and training materials for clients with regard to benefits, compensation and other HR topics
Participation in facilitation of internal team and external client meetings
Defining key messages and using creativity in presentation ideas
Participation in research and employee feedback projects
Project planning, scheduling, and tracking
Writing, preparing, and presenting reports and proposals
Working with designers and production consultants
Assisting Practice with special projects/assignments, as needed.
