Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide project management and analytic support to the Senior Consultants and Consultants in the region. Candidates will also need to assist in the growth of the consulting practice by providing thought leadership, development and overall marketing strategy. Also, must be or become proficient in job evaluation and market pricing. The incumbent will participate in regional cross-functional teams and promote teamwork with the practices, offices, and regions. This position provides the opportunity to work with high profile clients in dynamic industries.

Principal Accountabilities include:
Provide analytical, conceptual, and process support services to clients and to the Consultants who manage the clients.
Generate billings revenue by conducting assigned analyses, write and prepare reports, and assist clients in implementing desired changes.
Deliver basic technical and process consulting through management of standard consulting projects.
Become proficient in Hay technologies by attending assigned seminars, participating in consulting projects, reading and researching relevant literature.
Market pricing activities and preparing compensation conclusions and recommendations on a wide variety of reward consulting projects. Typical reward assignments involve the following: base salary and variable pay programs, job measurement, sales force effectiveness and incentive plan design, performance management, communications and implementation.
Prepare draft reports and final reports for clients, including exhibits, summaries, and recommendations.
Manage projects with little guidance or supervision.
Provide sales and marketing support for the Chicago region business development activities.

Qualifications:
This position requires a four-year college degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Mathematics or Human Resources. Additional formal education (i.e. MBA, MA, MS) strongly preferred.
Ideal candidate will have one to three years compensation experience, preferably in consulting.
Demonstrated experience in the following areas: strong research, analysis and planning skills, solid strategic, organization and problem solving skills and experience, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal and presentation skills that inspire trust and client intimacy.
Proficiency in MS Office: must have advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Access.
Ability to adapt tactics to excel in a culture with a high degree of ambiguity.
High degree of self-confidence as a proven performer.
Focus on client needs by acting to make concrete attempts to add value for the client.
Strong work ethic and a personal commitment to excellence.
Intellectual curiosity, along with the desire to aggressively seek new challenges.
Skill set of a polished professional who is detail oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
