Associate Consultant-Schirmer

Minimum education required: A minimum of a bachelors in fire protection engineering or similar engineering discipline and 5-10 years experience in engineering and/or consulting engineering. Candidate with PE in fire protection engineering degree preferred.


Minimum work experience required: 5-10 years. Previous work experience in fire protection consulting or system installation preferred.


Special skills required: Must be able to travel to project work sites to conduct surveys of existing building conditions to gather physical information necessary to develop designs of fire protection systems.


Description of duties & responsibilities: Building and fire code consulting, fire protection system design and associated calculations, evaluation of existing fire protection systems, life safety surveys/studies, application and evaluation of fire resistive construction. The candidate must work closely as part of a team of fire protection professionals and with our clients, which requires good oral and written communication skills. Project management and business development responsibilities commensurate with experience.
