Business System Analyst

 

Needed Now through March 2007. Systems Analysts will perform work across the whole project lifecycle and across multiple business units that require the design of cross-product technical solutions.  Responsible for management of business requirements for applications and associated documentation.  Systems Analyst need to have demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and record near-term business needs, recommend business priorities, and advise business on options, risks, and costs versus benefits.  Will communicate business priorities to the technology organization accordingly, in order to drive effective business solutions. 

Additionally, will need to research to determine if solutions to business needs currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible. 

 

Must be adept at analyzing business processes, products and operations to create detailed business requirements, and communicate these requirements to the development team for the design and implementation of business solutions.  Will provide input to the development of formal business cases when enterprise-wide business solutions are proposed, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews.  Must have experience working with the Quality Management team, or if no team exists, ensuring that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test plans, and complete testing plans and conduct system testing. Review new system functionally and patches to determine what is applicable and what should be presented to the business for prioritization.

 

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND/KEY COMPETENCIES:  Typically requires 4 plus years of related work experience in MIS functions within financial services companies, including interface analysis, data mapping and / or report specifications.  Requires experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts.  Requires advanced understanding of the company?s business practices, and familiarity with the company?s products and services.
