Position description:

This position is directly responsible for the examination of all SFIP flood claims as well as GFIP and RLTG flood claims written directly through the NFIP Direct Servicing Agent. This position is expected to use good judgment in performing flood claim investigations and coverage analyses accurately and in accordance with the policy coverages as well as all FEMA and NFIP rules and regulations. The position uses a Program-knowledgeable and customer-friendly approach in researching and answering claim complaints and in managing claim litigation. This position is expected to participate in subject matter training.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

? Examines flood claims under the NFIP-Direct, RLTG and GFIP policies and issues claim payments within assigned authority level
? Interprets and follows policy language and Program rules and regulations
? Handles all files to completion
? Researches and responds to inquiries/complaints from customers
? Responds to litigation on flood claims
? Travel: up to 20%


QUALIFICATIONS:

? Average knowledge of NFIP rules and regulations
? Strong communication skills, oral and written
? Navigate through and work within PC and web-based claim environment
? Effective customer service skills
? Ability to prioritize work
? Trained flood claim examiner or 2-5 years claims experience in P&C
? Skilled at meeting and reporting under measurable objectives
