Compliance Specialist

Do you obey the law? Do you notice when other people don?t? Have you ever pointed it out to a perfect stranger? Well now you can point it out to an entire staff. In fact, that?s exactly what we want you to do. As a Compliance Specialist, it?s your primary function. Of course, you?ll have to already know and understand the current and existing laws, rules and regulations of a credit union. That way you can make sound recommendations on how we can implement those laws into all of our current material. You?ll also be responsible for providing support to the Compliance Officer and help prepare any documents related to the department. From regulatory requirements, member or other third party complaints and inquiries to the revisions of legal documents, such as subpoenas, levies, trusts and powers of attorney. To qualify, you'll need a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, specifically pertaining to compliance issues. Knowledge of credit union laws and regulations is a huge plus. Must be able to collect data, identify problems and make quick and concise decisions. High-level organizational and verbal skills are required including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff with an open ear. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Binder is mandatory. Contract review experience is a plus, as is a legal background. A Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or JD degree will also suffice.
