Through a combination of custom technology and extensive relationships, we provide our clients (primarily hedge funds, private equity firms, and mutual funds) with timely access to expert insights in order to facilitate superior decision-making. Our research platform is based on direct access to a knowledge network known as the GLG Councils, composed of more than 170,000 individuals. Council Members include physicians, scientists, engineers, attorneys, business managers, operations directors, sales executives, economists and other subject-matter experts who are compensated to collaborate with our firm and our clients.
GLG?s Legal, Economic, and Regulatory Affairs (LERA) practice manages GLG?s Law and Policy & Economics Councils. These elite Councils include more than 7,000 expert lawyers, lobbyists, former government officials, economists and political scientists from the world?s leading professional-service firms, corporations, consultancies, academic institutions, think tanks, and organizations. Among them are members of every U.S. presidential cabinet since President Nixon?s; former Members of Congress and other elected officials; partners from 20 of America?s 25 most profitable law firms; and professors from each of the top 10 U.S. law schools. By facilitating consultations between our clients and these experts, we enable our clients to better understand legal, economic, regulatory and political issues and, in turn, to make more informed investment decisions.
