Description:
The Data Center Facilities Management Specialist insures data center facility planning, design, construction, maintenance standards, documentation and power/environmental conditions of spaces containing Information Systems technology infrastructure components are coordinated in a manner consistent with industry guidelines and business requirements for a 24 x 7 x 365 world class data processing facility.

Responsibilities
?* Assists in the planning, administration and organization of Hewitt data center and other secured ITS spaces
?* Assists in the development and implementation of procedures and guidelines for Hewitt data center and other secured ITS spaces.
?* Assists in the setting of short and long term priorities and goals for IT Facilities Management (ITFM)
?* Serves as the operational interface between Work Place Services, JLL, other ITS managers and ITFM for in LS
?* Keeps ITFM management aware of facility concerns and works with them to anticipate needs and recommend solutions
?* Participates in industry groups and professional organizations focusing on effective I.T. facilities management
?* Understands the ITS organization, the responsibilities of each function, and how each integrates with ITFM
?* Shares and presents information to other associates and vendors regarding ITFM issues and concerns
?* Maintains the inventory of all installed computing components in LS data center facilities as reference material for support personnel, building facilities personnel and IS managers
?* Coordinates requests to building facilities for their services to support the ITS secured space (cabling, delivery, electrical etc.)
?* Provide capacity planning data to ITFM management for quarterly executive reports (Power, Cooling, and Space)
?* Provides pro-active monitoring of facilities thresholds to insure 10-20% excess capacity at all times to accommodate growth (electrical, cooling, UPS etc.)
?* Documents Change Management events and activities to coincide with facilities work
?* Coordinates and schedules planned facilities maintenance, testing etc. with ITS and other business activities
?* Clarifies and coordinates the requirements for the installation, movement or removal of components within ITS secured space

Qualifications:
?* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
?* 1 to 3 years desktop operating systems, desktop and file system management
?* Minimal exposure to Local Area Networking, File & Print Services or Application server support
?* Ability to identify basic components of the hardware architecture and infrastructure
?* Established problem solving and decision making skills
?* Understanding of basic concepts behind technical documentation
?* Responsiveness and a sense of urgency in regard to problem resolution
?* Proven and good written and oral communications skills
?* Proven consulting skills, project participation skills, organizational skills, and time management skills
?* A strong knowledge of AutoCADD
