Deploy Operations Specialist

Description:
In a growing client business, provide technical support for our HR Outsourcing business. The Operations Specialist will be supporting a web based recruiting and staffing application, called Deploy. Deploy is a J2EE application accessed via the browser and operates on a UNIX application server and Oracle database platform. Support comprises all lifecycles for a varied audience including developers, functional users, offshore resources, and most importantly the customer.

He or she has the following primary areas of responsibility:
Primary support for customer application: The Operations Specialist is responsible for setup, support, and ongoing application maintenance.
Applying releases, patches, and upgrades.
Primary setup and support organization for Deploy environments.
Service Delivery: Work closely with IS organization to ensure we are meeting/exceeding client deliverables and other project milestones.
Work closely with IS teams to monitor the infrastructure using automated tools, escalate, resolve, and communicate issues.
Project Lead: Partner with Business Analyst by gathering and developing technical requirements for certain projects.
Partner with offshore associates to maintain environments.
Work closely with internal and external customers

Amount of travel: 5-10%

Qualifications:
Requirements:
Experience supporting J2EE and/or web applications
Experience with Oracle database and UNIX environment

Education:
BS/BA is preferred.
Oracle certification is a plus.

Technical Skills:
UNIX skills/experience is required.
SQL skills/experience is required.
Experience writing UNIX shell scripts
PL/SQL or Database administration experience is a plus.

Functional Skills - Candidate must be client focused, team oriented, and have good written and oral communication skills.
