Director-Special Projects

Description: Manages all aspects of the most sensitive, highly visible and comprehensive corporate projects. Negotiates project objectives and direction with senior level Corporate managers. Projects vary in scope and duration.

Qualifications:
The Director's primary objective is help identify, evaluate and implement comprehensive process improvements that enhance our overall Personal Market Claims profitability and customer satisfaction. The team will utilize disciplined project management, process mapping, activity based costing and statistical analysis to evaluate and prioritize opportunities. The process team will work collaboratively with our product managers and regional staff to effect change.

The Director will have 1-2 dedicated analysts and will manage numerous project specific resources such as field managers, IT, financial or actuarial experts.

1. Project management - Translate overall strategic initiatives into actionable work plans with clear objectives, milestones and deliverables. Assemble, align and motivate cross functional teams of HO, regional and technical experts to achieve superior results and create buy-in for execution.


2. Leverage technology and analytics - Apply rigorous data driven analytics to each project and make fact-based recommendations that are consistent with project and SBU objectives. Leverage process mapping, activity based costing, competitor research, customer focus groups and statistical analysis to evaluate and prioritize opportunities.


3. Effective communication - Work with diverse group of stakeholders (Claims, Financial, Underwriting, IT, TSSS, Regions, Product Managers, Etc.) to align efforts, manage expectations and communicate results. Document and summarize work in clear compelling format for senior management. Communicate results to senior management and be able to substantiate positions and articulate rationale.

4. Measurable outcomes - Initiatives must be implementable and drive to improved outcomes as defined in initial project goals and charter.

Graduate degree in related field or equivalent training required. Minimum of 10 years progressively more responsible experience in a financial and/or project management environment with exposure to project planning, simulation, modeling, capital budgeting, activity-based costing, cost benefit analysis and information systems development required. Strong negotiation skills also required. Minimum of 5 years of management experience required.
