Job Summary
The Director, Business Consulting plays a leadership role in developing client relationships and new business; managing delivery teams, and driving business unit financial goals and measures. This individual should assume the role of the executive client's trusted advisor for and drive innovative strategies to improve business performance in the U.S. law enforcement agency. Business consultants at Sapient focus primarily in three key areas:
Business Problem Solving - Take ambiguous and complex business problems and using research and business assessment capabilities, define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend actionable next steps.
Informed Business Decision Making - Bring rigor a client's decision making process by performing detailed cost/benefit analysis, presenting and evaluating solution options, and driving consensus among key stakeholders. In some instances, we help our clients develop new decision frameworks and governance processes that continue to deliver value far beyond a particular engagement.
Solution Planning - Define, scope and plan new solutions for clients. This includes determining how to measure business results, modeling current/future business processes, gather business requirements and identifying the organizational changes required to successfully realize the benefits of the solution.
This individual will also be expected to use their unique skills to analyze, structure, negotiate and close complex, long-term contracts with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned:

Build and lead effective teams that will deliver services to U.S. law enforcement agencies, which typically include people from different disciplines

Manage client engagements and accounts to high client satisfaction while adhering to revenue and margin guidelines

Structure and price complex client engagements

Develop new conceptual frameworks and analytical approaches

Develop and present solutions and recommendations to senior executives at U.S. Law Enforcement Agencies

Own and grow executive client relationships and accounts

Guide, mentor and grow business consultants

Actively drive new business development activities

Negotiate and close new client contracts

Practice development, including resource planning, recruiting, training, thought leadership and community building
Education:
Ideal candidate will have an MBA or MS degree in related field.
Experience Guidelines:

At least 9 years of relevant work experience including consulting and/or professional services

All Applicants for this position must be U.S. citizens in order to be considered. Possession of a current government security clearance is a plus.

Prior experience as a law enforcement agent/analyst

Creativity with an eye to developing new and innovative solutions

Ability to manage and grow complex client relationships with multiple projects

Track record of managing, growing and motivating people

Experience with operations, sales, strategic planning, business development, marketing, and IT

Strong problem identification and analytical skills

Financial analysis and business case development

Established track record of leading complex projects/programs and cross-functional teams

Proven ability to identify, negotiate and close new business opportunities

Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability effectively communicate and interact with senior executives

Expert in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project

Significant travel may be required as much of the work is done at the client site.
