Energy Finance Sr. Associate

Job Description -- One area that the PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory group assists clients is providing comprehensive risk management solutions for organizations that manage physical assets and load obligations as well as trade and market energy related commodities. In addition, the group regularly works with our external and internal audit teams in addressing energy/financial risk management issues at our clients.

We are looking for a Senior Associate for our Houston office that has experience in energy derivative accounting and financial reporting. This person will serve as an energy derivative accounting and reporting consultant for external and internal audit clients. Additionally, an understanding of energy trading or risk management functions at energy related companies is preferred. Other job activities include:
? Development and evaluation of processes and controls supporting utility operations, including trading and marketing environments;
? Derivative pricing and financial engineering (including asset and contract valuation, risk measurement methodologies);
? Market and credit risk management policies development and assessment;
? Hedging/trading strategies and related practices/controls; and
? Corporate governance framework/risk management infrastructure development and assessment

Bachelor?s degree in accounting or related field required. MBA/Master?s degree in finance and CPA preferred.

Job Requirement Essential

Work experience in the energy industry, or consulting to the energy industry is required
? Experience in derivative accounting (FAS 133/138/149) and financial reporting
? A minimum of two (2) years experience focused on derivative and hedge accounting issues for either a Big Four firm, or for a firm in the energy industry
? Familiarity with mark-to-market accounting
? Strong analytical and technical skills;
? Strong ability to learn required;
? Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
? Ability to interact with various levels of client and firm management
? Ability to work in constantly changing dynamic environment
? Ability to travel over 50%
