Fixed Income developer/Technical Consultant

Our client is seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in both finance and technology to join the Consulting Services Group. The technical consultant works directly with the business and technical users to customize and extend the clients product using client's rich set of technical APIs. Projects range from small-scale developments to large-scale implementations and version upgrades. Candidates should possess a combination of technical and finance skills and a desire to learn about our client’s business. The successful candidate must be motivated and independent, in addition to working efficiently and professionally within large teams. The position will require working at client sites, making communication and interpersonal skills a must. Candidates for the position must be willing to travel up to 5 days per week.

Qualifications :
• BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering; or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the finance industry (3 - 5 yrs).
• Strong C/C++ development background on Unix or NT.
• Relational database experience (Sybase and/or Oracle).
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Ability to write specifications and test plans.
• Ability to gather requirements from end users.
• Travel.

Additional Desired Skills:
• Project Management experience.
• Experience with Java and C#/.NET.
• Familiarity with middle-ware technology.
• Scripting experience (perl, shell, etc.)
