GCMG Americas Project Manager - Director

Job Description -- PricewaterhouseCoopers Transaction Services Global Capital Markets Group (?GCMG?) provides strategic, technical and project management advice and support to companies anywhere in the world who want to:
? Access capital markets beyond their own borders ? usually, the USA; or
? Change their basis of accounting ? most often, to International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS") or to US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures) as interpreted by the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC*).

GCMG is experiencing significant growth in the U.S. (New York, Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco) and is developing its IFRS Conversion and Embedding Service offerings in the U.S. The Project Advice Group will recruit additional project managers resources in the US in order to provide its services to the IFRS Practice.

Our GCMG Project Advice Services ("PAS") will include providing advice and assistance to clients and technical colleagues in:
? Applying and adapting GCMG Project Management Framework Principles and tools to guide smoothly through the operational problems, processes changes and impact on system requirements
? Project scoping and requirements definition
? Project planning and on-going monitoring
? Establishing project structure, governance and processes (such as issue resolution and change management)
? Defining roles and responsibilities and allocating adequate resources
? Implementing reporting and communication tools
? Working with Technical Directors to ensure technical impact and scope changes are reflected in project plan and communication strategies
? Maintaining oversight of project processes and direction
? Identifying and mitigating project risks
? Understanding critical issues and ensuring that their resolution is managed appropriately


Working with our leading clients, and acting as an integral part of PwC teams, as a Project Manager you will gain exposure to a wide variety of complex environments, challenges and learning opportunities.

We currently have a need for a Director role based in New York and for 2 Managers, one based in New York and one based in Chicago.

The Director role will have two prime areas of responsibility in support of GCMG US Project Advice Practice, initially focusing on addressing the IFRS practice needs:
? Business Development: To support the US Managing Director / Partner in charge to develop GCMG?s US PAS offering and capability for the IFRS practice, in association with GCMG?s Director of PAS, based in Hong Kong, China.

? Service delivery: To seek, win, shape and deliver PAS services primarily related to IFRS Conversions ? personally or through management, direction and mentoring of other PM resources ? to US clients or US subsidiaries of other clients, working alongside GCMG colleagues and other PwC staff.

While his / her prime focus will be on addressing the IFRS practice needs, it is expected that this Director will not work only on IFRS missions but would be expected to support other GCMG US projects if necessary.

? 10 years broad experience and credibility in assisting clients to manage changes in their business strategy and processes or in managing such changes in the industry
? Excellent problem solving skills
? Practical experience in dealing with operational and systems issues
? Experience in implementing and managing large multi-location projects
? Experience in (or capability to quickly gain command of) accounting and reporting implications, transactions, and associated regulatory changes
? Highly motivated and reliable
? Adaptable to various work environments
? Fluent English skills but other language skills a plus
? International experience a plus
? Flexibility in terms of travels
? Based in New York
