ACTIVITY BASED COSTING (ABC) SENIOR CONSULTANT - DoD EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

POSITION SUMMARY

Grant Thornton's Global Public Sector, based in Alexandria, VA, is a global management consulting business with the mission of providing responsive and innovative financial, performance management and systems solutions to governments and international organizations.

The Senior Activity-based Costing Consultant will work with the client to develop models and methods for cost analysis, develop cost accounting requirements definition and analysis, and analyze and develop business processes to support cost accounting analysis and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
-Work with the client to develop models and methods for cost analysis, develop cost accounting requirements definition and analysis, and analyze and develop business processes to support cost accounting analysis and reporting.
-Create Performance Management frameworks and Balanced Scorecards; implement Balance Scorecards.
-Develop performance measures and metrics and link performance measures with ABC model.
-Train staff in ABCM.
-Provide hands-on and ad hoc training technical support to various levels of management.
-Conduct process analysis and improvement and advise senior management on best practices and benchmarking techniques.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Degree in Accounting or related field.
-At least 4-5 years of management consulting experience in activity-based costing, preferably in public accounting.
-1-2 years of DoD consulting experience preferred.
-Facilitation and training skills.
-Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
-Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
-Flexibility to commute to work locations in the DC Metro area up to Baltimore, Maryland.
-US citizenship required.
-Ability to work additional hours as needed.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
-Performance Management and Balanced Scorecard.
-Proficient in creating Performance Management frameworks and Balanced Scorecard is required.
-Implementation experience of Balanced Scorecard.
-Facilitation skills to generate performance measures and metrics.
-Ability to provide necessary training on performance management to senior management.

ACTIVITY-BASED COST MANAGEMENT
-Proficient in ABCM concepts and techniques.
-Proficient in building complex ABC models using OROS software.
-Proficient in linking performance measures with ABC model.
-Familiar with other ABC packages.
-Experience in providing ABCM training to various levels of the organization.
-Ability to provide hands-on and ad hoc technical support to various levels of management.

PROCESS AND PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT
-Proficient in identifying and accumulating productivity measures.
-Proficient in process analysis and improvement.
-Ability to advise senior management on best practices and benchmarking techniques.
-Proven track record in productivity improvement programs.
