Position Overview
This position is responsible for the closing of the general ledger in a timely manner each month, including performing analysis of accounts and ledger balances to insure proper coding and reporting. This position will also work closely with other members of the Accounting and Reporting group as well as other groups within Finance and Administration to coordinate and meet deadlines and address any inefficiencies in processing. The Accountant will also act as Systems liaison between ITS and user groups for problem solving, system enhancements and upgrade testing.

Responsibilities
Collect, maintain and enter all manual journal entries.
Perform the closing process for the general ledger and create a trial balance.
Perform the vendor list process including creating, electronic distribution and filing.
Reconcile various accounts as necessary including, but not limited to intercompany, prepaid and accrual accounts for U.S. and Canada on a monthly basis.
Primary responsibility for set up and maintenance of the general ledger database for new offices, accounts, teams and other items as necessary.
Reconcile and invoice WW Europe and intercompany receivable/payable balances and follow up on any discrepancies.
Assist with year-end audit schedules as necessary.
Print and file reports including, journal entries and general ledger on a monthly basis.
Work with other groups in Finance and Administration to coordinate the interfaces sent to general ledger on a monthly basis to insure validity and reasonableness.
General backup for the Lawson Asset Management application.
