HPC Administrator/Application Analyst 

 

Description

 

The HPC Application Analyst/Administrator position will support users and their applications on an HPC cluster.  This position will be filled by a candidate that has experience building, administering, and/or using Linux/Unix based HPC systems.   Responsibilities include assisting the users with porting and debugging codes on new platforms, helping the users more effectively use the system, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks within the codes, providing support for the users when system or application problems are discovered, and assisting the administrators and vendors to resolve other system issues.  Candidates must be experienced with FORTRAN and C++ and be comfortable working with large, unfamiliar code bases.  Candidates should have some experience with building, debugging, and running MPI applications and understand large parallel scientific applications.  Experience developing MPI applications is desirable.  The position requires the ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance (preference will be given to those already cleared), good interpersonal skills, solid writing and communication skills, and a desire to be involved with leading-edge HPC technologies.

 

Requirements:

 3-5 years of programming experience with some Unix/Linux system administration experience 2+ years of experience of building, administering, or using high-performance computing systems (HPC).  Some of this experience must include building MPI applications.  Some of this experience may be gained during college. Hands-on experience with IBM Power 5 platform desired Experience developing numerical applications under Unix or Linux Experience with FORTRAN and C++ and comfortable working with unfamiliar applications and programming languages.  Experience developing MPI and OpenMP applications a plus.DOD Secret clearance or ability to obtain clearance An interest in learning and using state-of-the-art HPC systems Must be able focus on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously Solid writing and communication skills Strong interpersonal skills

 

Location:  Position is located in Monmouth, NJ.  Candidate must be on-site.
