Located in our corporate office in Eagan, MN, this position is a high-visibility, career-enhancing opportunity to help drive the strategy of a proven market leader. Thomson Legal and Regulatory's (TLR) clients include the CEO, the CFO, and the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) as well as all senior executives from the major lines of business.

Managers are key members of the global strategy organization, providing leadership on internal consulting projects across the enterprise. Example projects include working with business units to build business plans and strategies, participating on cross-functional teams to rationalize and improve products and processes, and assisting with domestic and international market assessment projects. In taking on various consulting engagements, the Manager plays a key role in project structure, project management, and communication. The Manager also takes on group development responsibilities, including intellectual and organizational leadership, leading analysis and research, and coaching team members. This position offers opportunities for rapid progression within or outside the department.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should have the ability to lead and develop a team, guide qualitative and quantitative analytical efforts, and employ innovative problem solving to ensure high quality deliverables. This leadership position requires effective coordination of research activities, such as conducting client interviews and developing efficient research methodology. This highly visible role builds and manages client relationships at all levels throughout the organization including collaboration with internal business unit executives and other constituents to frame key strategic issues and support implementation of strategic recommendations. In addition, the individual must be creative in their approach to organizing and presenting findings and should possess a strong commitment to success.


 

Qualifications


 MBA required, coursework in business strategy and analytical areas of study (e.g. economics, finance, statistics) 5+ years experience in business strategy (e.g. mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, channel optimization, business development) 1-3 years strategy consulting experience required Proven ability to build relationships and to influence individuals at all levels in the organization Demonstrated ability to identify strategic opportunities and selling of recommendations Proven analytical and quantitative modeling skills Demonstrated project management and organizational skills Demonstrated communication skills (both written and verbal) Ability to handle multi-tasking environment, meet deadlines, and work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues Experience in working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment Experience with the publishing industry, international business and e-commerce is an asset Ability to travel periodically as necessary
