Network Engineer

Job Description: Six (6) years of relevant work experience in the following areas with at least (2) years leading engineering projects or delivering client solutions. CCIE, CCNP or CISSP certifications a plus

Design, implementation and operational support of routing/switching protocols in complex network environments including MPLS, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, 802.1q, etc

Experience with WAN design and implementation including MPLS, DS-1/DS-3, ATM, Packet Over SONET, Frame Relay or Transparent LAN Services

Design, implementation or operations experience with optical transport equipment and configuration, preferably Nortel or Cisco including SONET, DWDM, Resilient Packet Ring

Experience with the following: NAT, route redistribution, policy routing, HSRP, traffic policing/rate limiting, network load balancing, access control lists, route maps

Knowledge of IP multicast, troubleshooting and routing solutions (IP PIM Sparse/Dense Modes, IGMP v1, 2 and 3, RP)

Design and implementation of QoS configuration and policy development in support of Voice, Video and Data (Cisco AVVID)

Operations level knowledge or design/implementation experience with any of the following Network Management software platforms: Netcool, CiscoWorks 2000, Concord, Infovista, Smarts, Openview

Platform experience with any of the following hardware vendors: Nortel Passport, Cisco 7600/6500/4500/GSR, Juniper M Series, F5 Big-IP

Strong knowledge, implementation and/or troubleshooting experience with IPSEC/SSL VPN's, Authentication systems (TACACS+, Radius, RSA) and Remote Access Solutions

Able to troubleshoot application performance or voice quality issues from a network perspective in a timely manner

Proficient with packet capture tools (Ethereal, Niksun, Sniffer)

Knowledge of DNS and DHCP. Experience with Cisco CNR a plus

Strong documentation skills and proficient with Visio, MS Project and Office

Strong client relationship skills. Able to build and maintain long term relationships with engineering, operations support staff and senior management.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines

Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills required for client interaction and sales support

Experience with firewall administration of Cisco PIX/ASA, CheckPoint/Nokia or Netscreen a plus

Knowledge, design or implementation experience with enterprise and service provider VoIP solutions including softswitch, GR-303, voice signaling/protocols (MGCP, SIP) or enterprise IPT platforms including Cisco, Nortel or Avaya a strong plus

Experience with server/data center load balancing solutions including F5 Big-IP, Cisco CSS and Foundry ServerIron a plus

Must be willing to travel 75-100% M-Th
