Network Security Analyst: Intermediate

Description:
Excellent analytical skills are required for this position. You will be responsible for handling the day-to-day request queue for a highly-leveraged network security team. You will be asked to understand and internalize knowledge of Hewitt's network security infrastructure and policies and apply that knowledge to incoming requests, analyzing request feasibility and risk, and implementing policy changes. You will assist in the evaluation, deployment and support of mission-critical network security infrastructure.

Qualifications:
Technical skills required (in order of importance):
- understanding of the 7-layer OSI protocol model
- IP networking and routing
- Firewalls
- HTTP, TCP, DNS

Functional skills required:
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Excellent analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Risk vs. reward analysis
- Defense-in-depth security
- Reliability and consistent track record of tenure with previous organizations

Candidate should be familiar with one or more of the following technologies:
- DNS, DHCP, and SMTP (BIND, ISC DHCP, Sendmail)
- HTTP services (Apache, IIS, iPlanet)
- Personal or network firewalls (PIX, IPFilter, ZoneAlarm, BlackICE)
- Network load balancing (3DNS, BigIP, Radware, NetStructure, Local Director)

Experience and other requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years technical experience in Information Technology
- Foundation in security skills/tools preferred
