Novell Network Architect

Description:
The Novell Operating Systems Technology: Network Architect X2 This role is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, administration, and support of Hewitt s enterprise network operating system, file/print services infrastructure, and related applications. This individual must be have extensive Project Management experience, possess strong aptitude in verbal and written communication, analytical skills, and have the ability to work directly with other teams and vendors.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
5 or more years Network Operating Systems Administration (Netware, Win2K, Citrix)
3 or more years experience providing desktop and desktop application support
SAN/NAS experience a plus
Novell CNA or CNE a plus
Available to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Available to participate in extended hour working schedule on a rotational basis
Must be able to lift 30 pounds

Technical/Functional Skills:
Design, implementation, and support of file and print services infrastructure
Design, implementation, and support of enterprise network operating system
Possess strong understanding of security concepts and technologies and the ability to develop solutions for data confidentiality and availability.
Demonstrate and apply advanced understanding of complex IT systems
Must have strong working knowledge of the following: Netware Operating System, Windows Operating System, Network Protocols infrastructure and topologies, and Intel based Server hardware platform.

Systems Analysis Skills:
Must have work experience in interacting with the Business groups and the ability to understand which technology to apply to a specific business need or request. Individual will be expected to understand how technology can be applied to a specific business requirement, and must be able to negotiate with client teams how such implementation will take place.
Individual must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to compose informative communications to a target audience regarding changes to the environment and the impact there of.
Ability to interact with the IS Support Center, Global System s Operations Center, and other local and regional support teams in troubleshooting issues and seeing them through to a resolution.
Experience working with and giving direction to associates in Global offices with diverse cultures and varying proficiency with the English language.
Must have extensive familiarity overseeing complex projects. Individual will be accountable for monitoring status of multifaceted issues, managing road blocks, both in and out of the project scope, and organizing resources in order to produce deliverables based on pre-defined timelines and guidelines.
MS Project experience or equivalence is preferred

Hands-on experience a plus with the following:
McAfee Anti-Virus software and Enterprise Policy Orchistrator, LT Auditor, Backup Software (Veritas, Arcserve, TSM), Netware Remote Manager, Novell iMonitor, and Novell iManager, ZEN for Servers.
