Principal/Managing Consultant - HCM

Shell Global Solutions is currently seeking a Principal/Managing Consultant ? HCM for its Houston, Texas location.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for working closely with technical skill groups, covering all key downstream processes, logistics, supply and distribution, business planning, etc., both within Global Solutions and within the client?s organization. You will also be responsible for providing support to the Base Chemicals business in the Chemicals CoB.

Key Accountabilities Include:
Delivering high quality services and results to our client?s bottom line
Maximizing business value for the client organization
Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
Committing approximately 50% of his/her time training and developing in the areas critical to Base Chemicals, such as the oil-chemicals interface
Analyzing Hydrocarbon Utilization
Supporting oil-chemical interface studies
Supporting the business on hydrocarbon stream pricing
Supporting optimization & scheduling tools
Analyzing business performance
Delivering tools to support business analysis & strategy
Strategizing studies - feedstock and product strategies
Configuring studies - petrochemicals facilities
Leading and supporting consulting assignments with Shell and 3rd party clients
Ensuring Hydrocarbon Management (incl. Hydrocarbon Management Reviews, margin component of Business Improvement Reviews)
Configuring studies - using modeling tools (e.g., Refsim+) for analysis
Ensuring master planning - strategic planning and portfolio studies
Maintaining margin components of Opportunity Confirmation Processes
Leading and supporting the development of new products and services by Global Solutions in the areas of hydrocarbon management
Participating in the global discipline Hydrocarbon Management skill pool
Working with the Regional (Americas) Discipline Leader and the Global Discipline Leader for Hydrocarbon Management
Participating in various Centers of Excellence, including Margin Improvement, Strategic Studies, Master planning
Supporting the Consultancy focus on technology and innovation
Supporting the Global Solutions sales and service organization and interfacing with the Account Executives and Service Managers

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering and possess approximately 10 or more years work experience in supply and manufacturing (design, operations, configuration).

Additional Requirements Include:
Ability to contribute to projects in various parts of the world though primarily in the Americas
Ability to contribute to projects for clients such as Gas & Power and E&P
Maintaining process design, refinery configurations, process optimization, operations (operational excellence, asset integrity and reliability), organizational issues (including skills and competency development and coaching), and change management is required
Broad experience with the use of tools such as process or refinery configuration and simulation models, linear programming tools, complex financial models, etc. is required in delivering the various services
Ability to work in a leadership role in diverse teams (both Shell and 3rd party client based) and often in non-ideal conditions and in remote locations, is essential
Business planning and optimization (site based as well as Group wide) skills
Refinery economics skills
Strategy development, planning & project evaluation skills
Capital project planning and approval processes skills
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in complex assignments
A proven track record in managing internal and external stakeholders is a distinct advantage
International experience
Experience in other businesses than supply and manufacturing
Experience with Base Chemicals a plus
Ability to speak other languages (e.g., Spanish)
