Process Analyst
The position is located in Buffalo Grove, IL.
The purpose of the department is The Property-Casualty Claim Service Organization (P-CCSO) is one of the largest business client bases within Allstate Corporation. Claim Technology Services (CTS) is accountable for total P-CCSO client satisfaction and achieving targeted returns on IT investments. CTS- Claims Technology Services department is responsible for development and maintenance of system applications supporting processing and resolving of auto, casualty and property claims reported by Allstate insurer or claimant involved in the accident involving Allstate insurer. This request is for the Auto Discipline area of CTS.
The scope of this job is Process Analyst - Analyzes designs, develops, consults on and implements or reengineers processes, techniques, and tools in a particular content area in support of operational excellence. Allstate is looking for individuals with an interest in serving clients and a strong executive presence to become a member of its Business Performance Improvement team. This internal consulting group assumes significant roles in complex business process redesign and re-engineering projects to assist our business clients with project design & management, workshop facilitation, issue analysis, operating model definition, and project risk management. Team members are also responsible for forging, building, and maintaining key client relationships. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a group of innovative individuals focused on guiding the growth of Allstate. We are looking for talented, energetic and highly motivated individuals with experience assisting organizations with complex process redesign & re-engineering projects.
The individual will be responsible for:
1. Primary Responsibilities: Researches and develops process documentation standards, tools, and methods for use by projects, APT, or Allstate. Defines methods for process assessment, redesign & reengineering. Collects information and documents business processes and related business rules and performance objectives. Analyzes, Redesigns and Reengineers Processes. Executes and/or support business process management and tracks metrics ( i.e. supports implementation and maintenance of processes and initiatives in APT or the business group).
2. Specific Responsibilities: Plans and oversees the development and deployment of standards, tools and methods. Develops process hierarchy framework (e.g., Mega, Major, Sub-process). Defines process documentation notation standards and tools for use by process analysts, project team, or leadership. Customizes process repository/application to adhere to process notation standards. Develops communications and training for users of process application/repository functionality. Recommends and oversees development of project deliverable templates. Develops and delivers communications and training for practitioners. Ensures standards and methods are used appropriately and consistently. Oversees development of usage guidelines for advanced analysis techniques.
3. Specific Responsibilities: Leads the information collection activities for complex processes. Defines the process hierarchy for the given subject area. Applies Allstate process hierarchy, methods, tools and notation standards in complex situations. Ensures process repository, tools, and other standards are used appropriately by process teams. Assists in process analysis and makes improvement recommendations for complex processes. Leads complex process redesign and reengineering initiatives across business groups. Assists in planning the approach, and deliverables for the effort. Defines and leads current and future state design workshops for complex situations. Directs process simulation activities.
4. Specific Responsibilities: Oversees the implementation of new processes and related performance measures used in APT or the business group. Ensures process management teams follow use the defined approach, tools, and procedures. Recognize and identify improvements to the ongoing measurement and evaluation and improvement approach. Leads the implementation of process or quality improvement related initiatives across business groups.
5. Other Responsibilities: Partners with the project team or business area to provide process related communication and education. Defines methods for effective business process management. Defines, maintains and fosters the use of overall data security processes and tools. Assesses process use and/or process control standards (e.g., compliance). Mentors and coaches peers and colleagues. Builds and sustains relationships. Supports corporate strategy. Consults to develop and deliver process related education or communication programs for project teams or business groups. Develops and delivers communications regarding process related policies and issues to business groups. Develops implementation methodology and toolsets for business process management. Promotes the value and use of business process management practices with clients. Develops standards for metrics and measurement for use by process analysts, project teams and business groups. Develops the means by which to measure the value of effectively delivered business process management. Advises teams on tools and techniques available to evaluate, develop, and/or implement information security requirements. Consults with business and technology clients and various internal governance organizations with regard to information security requirements. Collaborates with architects, development teams, and QC analysts to develop a framework for ensuring appropriate design, coding, and testing to meet information security requirements. Designs, develops or recommends security system solutions to ensure protection of proprietary and/or confidential data and systems. Designs and prepares information security reports for all levels of APT management. Defines compliance standards, metrics, and procedures for self assessments or audit type reviews. Leads the assessment of new processes. Interfaces with assessors or auditors to support compliance activities. Provides informal training to all levels on the team. Proactively identifies areas for improvement in team members and provides feedback on suggestions for improving processes. Interfaces with assessors or auditors to support compliance activities. Builds, cultivates, and maintains long term relationships. Manages the expectations of customers. Assists in maintaining contact with software vendors and other groups external to the Allstate organization. Supports, identifies, and promotes opportunities to support the APT and corporate strategy.
Experience Required:
Candidates interested in joining our team must have 5+ years experience assisting large organizations with business process redesign and/or business transformation initiatives and experience demonstrating project management skills and principals. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate effective client communication skills and the ability to build relationships within an organization. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate success with defining and solving complex business problems, thriving in a fast-paced, team environment, multi-tasking among different projects and customer service. Candidates must possess an interest in providing high-energy client support and developing competencies within business process management (BPM). Additionally, successful candidates will posses a willingness to learn and adapt to fast-paced results-oriented project environment and good communication skills. Insurance industry, external Consulting, Business Process Management, or Six Sigma experience a plus.
Computer Proficiency:
Required proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Microsoft Visio or CaseWise experience a plus .
Education:
College Degree - Preferred
Major preference: Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations degrees preferred
