 Oracle Project Manager/Engagement Manager

 

The Challenge:

In the position of Project Manager/Engagement Manager, you will be given the opportunity to drive implementations by motivating and directing project teams, teams that may include cross-functional departments at Oracle, third-party vendors, partners, and the client.  In the role of a Project Manager you will have the professional capability and techno/functional aptitude to work closely with customers, the account team and other Oracle staff to identify opportunities, define product functionality specific to client requirements, and promote ?best practices?.  As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing a professional rapport with customer personnel and maintaining customer satisfaction. 

 

The Call:

You will create and manage an overall project plan (including budget, structure, schedule, and staffing requirements) for one or more Oracle engagements. Monitor and report progress/changes against the plan. Act as primary interface with the client regarding deliverables, changes, and sign-off on status and requirements. Identify and communicate opportunities for new business. May include responsibility for technical development.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

?  Demonstrated knowledge of project management ?best practices?

?  Ability to mentor/coach junior members of the team

?  Oracle eBusiness or PeopleSoft software implementation required

?  Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills (both written and spoken)

?  7+ years of experience in a related industry or consulting environment

?  Creative problem-solving skills a must

?  Fixed Price experience project experience is a plus

?  Advanced interpersonal/relationship development skills in working with customers and consultants

?  Acts as lead POC for customers and consultants on engagements

?  Deep knowledge of standard project and engagement management processes, specifically: project accounting, booking processes, billing and invoice reconciliation, etc.

?  Outstanding organizational skills

?  Must be comfortable in matrix management environments and work effectively with others in managing complex projects

?  Self-starter, highly motivated

?  Technical skills essential

?  Selling skills required

?  Typically holds a BS Degree and has or is in the process of obtaining PMI Certification

? Willing to travel regionally with some national and/or international travel (up to 100 percent)
