Research & Analysis Associate

Job Description:

We are currently offering a Research & Analysis Associate (RA) position in our New York office (www.taylor-rafferty.com)

What do RA Associates do?
RA Associates research and analyze our clients' shareholder base, as well as institutional and retail investment houses, and market trends.  The bulk of research consists of speaking to portfolio managers, buy side analysts, and investment administrators to obtain shareholding data.  Secondary research comes from SEC filings, Bloomberg, and various other sources.  Candidates must be able to use a bit of detective work to track down shareholdings.  You should be comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint; we will teach you more as you go along.

Responsibilities include:

? Phone-canvassing institutional fund managers and back office contacts

? Researching institutional and retail investment houses and identifying market trends

? Providing intelligence on buying and selling activities of shareholders

? Compiling findings into spreadsheets and proprietary database

? Regularly corresponding with the investment community regarding various projects

 

NOTE:  This is NOT an equity research position.

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor?s Degree (non-specific) and 1-2 years post graduate work experienceConfident and professional in phone communicationInterest in capital marketsAbility to extrapolate informationDetail-oriented, but able to see the big pictureBe able to work independently and complete projects with limited supervision, as well as to work as a member of a teamAbility to meet timelinesProficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel & PowerPoint
