Senior Project Manager desired to join our team of contract staff at our Seattle-based firm

Privately held Seattle-based project management consulting firm in its seventh year of successful operations seeks project managers to join its team of contract staff.  Ideal candidates are experienced project managers with a track record of successfully managing a wide variety of projects within diverse industries and are technically adept with a wide range of methodologies, processes, and tools.  Additionally ideal candidates will demonstrate basic business acumen and possess strong leadership, presentation, facilitation and communications skills.  Finally, candidates must be willing to travel as needed for client assignments.

 

We actively recruit full-time consulting staff from our contractor ranks.  Join our growing firm as we continue to build upon our success and support our established and new clients in meeting their project management challenges.  Rates are commensurate with experience and range from $45 to $60.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for developing project plans for client specific projects with minimal guidance or supervision.  Responsible for communicating project objectives, maintaining delivery schedule, researching and assessing resource requirements.  Provide planning support to all business units according to defined client/customer project guidelines.  Responsible for communication of project schedule status, risks and issues.  Manages the project team.Plans, organizes, controls, and leads the activities of the project team. Prepares the detailed plan for the project team. Works with client management on acquiring the appropriate resources for the project. Manages the budget and the schedule of the project team.Ensures that the project team does their work according to the work methods recognized by the client organization. Manages and tracks change requests, risks and issues.Conducts project-related meetings.

 

Experience & Educational Background

Bachelors degree, or work equivalent, with at least 5 years experience in project management.

 

Experienced in working with complex project management environments. 

 

Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus. 

 

Project management or related certification is preferred e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, etc.

 

Knowledge and experience with enterprise portfolio project management tools, e.g.,  Changepoint, Clarity, MSProject, EPM, Lawson, Mercury, Pacific Edge, PlanView, Primavera, etc.

 

Proficient in MSOffice suite of products.
