Supply Chain and Inventory Management Consultant (Automotive)

Essential responsibilities for the position:

Mercedes-Benz Technology (MBtech) is a global company founded in 1995 as a subsidiary of the Daimler Chrysler Corporation.  We are recruiting for our Consulting Division in the Troy, Michigan office.  Our consulting projects are focused on the following areas:

2. Supply Chain Management

3. Logistics Planning

4. Material Flow Management

5. Project Management

6. Six Sigma

7. Sales and Marketing

8. Product and Process Quality

 

Key responsibilities for the Senior Associate position include: 

? Working with clients to analyze transportation cost drivers including mode, frequency, cube utilization, weight, volume and cost

? Identify supply chain and inventory cost reductions/savings

? Drive and facilitate projects while working with business owners

? Work multiple projects and effectively communicate status on each

? Perform research on a variety of topics

? Interact daily with clients

? Manage supply chain project teams at various client sites

? Respond to and write proposals for additional projects in the area of supply chain and inventory management

 

Primary function of this position:

The primary function of this position will cross multiple areas such as purchasing, supply, logistics and engineering.  The Senior Associate will be involved in a range of activities, including:

 

1. Leading supply chain project teams

2. Identify opportunities for supply chain improvement and cost savings

3. Sales development

 

Qualifications or necessary skills and experience required to do this job:

A bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations management or business.  Extensive background in Lean principles and particularly as they apply to inventory control, distribution and logistics.  Large company distribution and logistics experience desired.  APICS certification is helpful but not required.  Candidates must also have a strong desire to work as a consultant in the automotive industry.
