Responsibilities:
The system engineer is responsible for pre-sales technical support for the sales staff, performing Proof of Concepts (POC) at the customer?s location and providing professional services. The POC duty includes participating in technical meetings, discussions with potential and existing customers for qualifying them and answering any customer technical questions or technical issues during the pre-sale, the POC process or post POC process. Professional Services responsibilities include project management, code development, installations, implementation strategies, problem solving, debuggin and other technical duties related to a successful implementation of DataDirect products.
Position Responsibilities:
? Assist in pre-sales and POC meetings
? Product installations
? Perform Proof of Concepts (POC)
? Provide support for Proof of Concept customers
? Perform Professional Services on billable & non-billable engagements
? Provide various status and other reports as required by DataDirect and Customers
? Provide training, coaching and mentoring to customers
? Participate in advising development of customer problems and requests
? Attend marketing events to provide technical demos and meetings
Qualifications:
? Ability to travel as needed
? A minimum of 6 years experience
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills
? 4+ years past experience with mainframe development in Natural.
? 4+ years current experience with client server development using .Net and or java
? COBOL or PL1 with CICS or IMS or DB2 is a plus.
? ACI or Entire X is a plus
