VP, Account Director (Database Marketing / CRM)
Reperio, Inc, a Boston area Executive Search Firm, is conducting a search for one of our local clients that is a leader in the database marketing service provider space. We are searching for a Vice President, Account Director with a proven background in retail markets, multi-channel relationship management and direct marketing to lead integrated account planning, drive account development and manage the cross-functional team for a large North American retailer.
The VP, Account Director is responsible for overall account management including account development, strategic planning, cross-functional delivery management, client financials and profitability. He/she will work with the integrated team to develop key insights from data that can actively improve customer profitability and drive business strategies that demonstrate a deep understanding of the client?s business, customer needs and the retail industry. He/she provides data-based marketing thought leadership and strategic oversight to the integrated client teams. He or she has strong retail vertical market expertise, has worked for a consumer retailer or a direct marketing agency. He/she has the ability to collect and translate customer knowledge into multi-channel customer centric strategies and programs that deliver sustained competitive advantage to retail clients.
The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional team of internal and external partners including business analysts, technical architects, marketing analysts, direct mail managers, list managers and business developers. The candidate will be expected to identify opportunities to meet and exceed client goals, service level agreements and provide ongoing business and industry counsel based on industry best practices in database marketing, multi-channel retailing, and client relationship management as well as actively mine for deeper customer insights in an effort to develop actionable strategies that can deliver enhanced customer value.
Essential Duties and Skills
Retail Marketing, Business Strategy and Account PlanningServes as Retail subject matter expert to provide focused thought leadership, business strategy, marketing counsel and management oversight for one or more client teamsArchitects and manages the strategic planning of the account along with the account service team and analytic resourcesMust be able to interpret and quantify program results so clients have clear understanding of return on investment, net present value, and logical next stepsLeads the execution of a set of client-specific deliverables that demonstrate and quantify the value of their investment with a set of bundled services provided by the organizationThis includes but not limited to analytic reporting and modeling, multi-channel CRM solutions, business intelligence, campaign management, database strategy and management, database production, database enhancements, among othersWorks with business developer to architect the direction setting for the accountLeads a cross functional team (client service, analytics, project management, list, data services) on the development and execution of their client-specific plansLeads strategy review sessions with client senior managementAssist the sales organization in the pursuit of qualified new opportunities in defined verticalCan identify additional sales opportunities and partner with the appropriate personnel within the organization in the cross-sell of additional database marketing products and services such as agency, logistics, print production among others

Requirements
10-12 years direct marketing, account planning and client management 5+ years retail industry experienceExperienced in multi-channel retail marketing, CRM and comfortable developing customer insight and strategies to optimize and drive data intelligence, customer segmentation and investment strategies, channel and marketing plans as well as performance dashboards and reportingProven success working with integrated teams to align, centralize and support a multiple set of services including database hosting and management, analytic services and projects, campaign execution, list integration, data cleansing, marketing and direct mailExperience with campaign management and business intelligence software such as Unica, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Epiphany, among othersUnderstands relational databases and data marts, data collection and can work with business partners to influence operational integration to ensure industry compliance and business best practicesProven success managing a large client portfolio or budgetComfortable with VP and C-level audiencesExcellent presentation and strategic planning skillsMBA strongly desired
