Required Skills:-BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

 

Minimum requirements include at least 5 years of full time experience as an Oracle database developer/architect in a scientific or laboratory environment;

 

 This individual is responsible for defining the logical database models to support a new Laboratory Analytics application and creation of the physical database.

 

Experience with Object Oriented design and development of models from Use Cases will be a plus.

 

 A willingness to do collaborative development with software developers is necessary.

 

 Strong interpersonal and communication skills are highly desired.

 

The candidate will develop and maintain global Java/Oracle Laboratory Informatics applications in support of seed manufacturing.

 

The successful candidate will work as part of a team comprised of a project manager, other programmer/analysts, and Seed Quality professionals to develop leading edge DNA and Protein analytics support databases.

 

 

The candidate will be required to design Oracle databases and, in some cases, provide update scripts to populate the Oracle database from MS Excel or Access data sources.

 

 Our initial analytics application is due in September 2006.
