06-174 Associate Product Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for optimizing sales and profit for a given department (i.e.: FeatherWates, Duralens, etc.) through accurately analyzing data and making decisions based on data. Supports Sr. Product Manager, product rollouts and tests. Ensures product supply is accurate to deliver sales plan. Support stores on all lens related issues/initiatives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Source highest quality product at best value, optimizing volume to ensure lowest price.

? Approve purchase orders in conjunction with departmental forecast. Communicate to the corporation on specific products and their impact on sales, inventory, investment, and profits.

? Negotiate costs, terms, returns, discounts, coop expenditures, recalls, and rollouts with suppliers.

? Understand marketplace/competitors product offerings.

? Coordinate inventory management functions with Lens Planning, Distribution Center, Special Orders, Merchandising, Inventory Control, and Returns.

? Analyze assortments and coordinate necessary changes to the mix with lens Planning Department.

? Develop and maintain assortment strategies.

? Partner with field management and resolve lens issues relating to inventory, product quality and business building initiatives.

? Maintain good relationships with vendors.

. Ensures product delivery timeline is executed on new product tests and rollouts.

? Track product information and create spreadsheets.

EXPERIENCE:

4-7 years of solid work experience in retail with buying and/or planning experience required.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
