Analytical Chemist

 

3M Decatur is committed to manufacturing the best polymer and film products and is seeking a skilled, down to earth analytical chemist who can create solutions with independent thought.  If you are tenacious and opportunistic professional who can coordinate pieces of work from multiple people, solving the bigger problem, we want to talk with you.

 

Whether your degree is a BS, MS, PhD in chemistry, or some other technical degree, we value your significant experience in analytical chemistry using the following:   

 

Gas chromatography (GC) and GC-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)

Metals analysis using either x ray fluorescence (CRF) or Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP)

Fourier Transform infrared Spectroscopy (FRIR) to identify components

Wet chemistry experience --- titrations, extractions, sample prep

Particle sizing to measure distribution of dispersed particles

Polymer thermal analysis a plus (DSC, TGA, Rheology)

Coordinating and interpreting results from NMR, LC-MS, and GPC
