BKB Manager, Baked Goods

The mission of the Research and Development team is to ensure that Burger King's product portfolio is consistent with brand strategy, is reliably delivered in restaurants, exceeds consumer expectations, and demonstrates quality, differentiation, and innovation.

The BKB Manager, Baked Goods will lead the development and optimization of bakery products including breads, pastries and deserts, for Burger King's menu.



Responsibilities:
Work with suppliers to develop and drive baked goods and breads projects to on time completion


Lead product development prototypes through the commercialization process


Review core bakery ingredients for optimization opportunities


Collaborate cross-functionally with research and development, quality assurance, operations, marketing research, product marketing, suppliers and the franchise community


Develop metrics for testing


Write specifications that define the Gold Standard for high quality breads and baked goods


Travel approximately 30 percent, visiting bakeries and supporting Burger King suppliers in order to meet the expectations of Burger King Brands


Supervise one associate

Qualifications
Baker's certification; AIB preferred


A minimum of 7 years of commercial baking experience


Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field is a plus


Solid understanding for functions of ingredients and food manufacturing


Demonstrated success in problem-solving


Superior communication skills both written and verbal


Ability to work in team environment that requires collaboration, self-motivation, and exceptional multi-tasking skills
