Channel Marketing Manager

TITLE:   Channel Marketing Manager ? Consumer Products Division

REPORTS TO:  Vice President of Marketing

 

 I.  Purpose of Position

 

Responsible for managing the marketing initiatives needed to sustain growth with consumer customers.  This includes developing and implementing new product and promotional plans as well as identifying new categories to market to our customer base to drive new growth.

 II.  Key Responsibilities

 

? Contribute to the development of channel strategic plans

? Develop marketing programs and promotions that support the strategic plan

? Create merchandising and packaging to support these programs

? Analysis of POS data and identification of trends to better manage product mix and make recommendations to improve sales growth and margin

? Work closely with Consumer Sales team to build funnel opportunities and develop strong customer relationships

? Become trained in order to lead process improvement initiatives and utilize growth tools in planning and program implementation

? Involvement in customer forecasting and demand planning

? Focus on driving innovation with key customers to create sustainable advantage

 V.  Background and Skill

 

 

? College degree ? BA/BS; MBA preferred

? Minimum of 3 years in product management or channel marketing in retail/consumer market; some sales experience preferred

? Experience in strategic planning and implementation

? Strong project management skills ? ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

? Excellent organizational and communication skills

? Experience in leading cross-functional teams

? Experience working with large consumer Big Box or Mass Merchant retailers such as Lowe?s, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Target or Sears

? Problem-solving skills ? manage through use of facts

? P & L literate ? comfortable with financial metrics

?  Strong analytical skills ? data driven decision making
