Position Overview

 Responsible for maintaining all aspects of credit and collection functions for assigned

territory.

 

Essential Functions

 Maintain collections for all accounts in assigned territory.Review and process all in-coming credit applications for Credit Manager approval.Maintain daily, weekly and monthly collection report to track A/R, charge backs and DSO for assigned territory.Provide customers with accurate information regarding their account.Make daily recommendations to Credit Manager on accounts for credit hold.Maintain timely research and resolution to charge back issues.Maintain customer master profile for changes and updates.Attend weekly A/R meeting to discuss collection progress and address issues as necessary.Provide as a back-up resource for cash-posting, invoicing and credit/debit memo processing when needed.Other appropriate accounting and financial tasks as may be required.Other duties/projects as necessary.

Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with moderate background noise.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions

 

Sitting/Standing/Walking:  Approximately 95% of time is spent working at a desk.  Balance of time (approximately 5%) is spent moving around work areas.

Speaking/Hearing:  Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and outside agencies, by telephone and in person.

Vision:  Ability to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, memos and other appropriate paperwork.

Lifting/Carrying:  Ability to transport files and supplies.

Stooping/Kneeling:  Ability to access files and supplies.

Reaching/Handling:  Ability to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies.

 

Profeciencies 

? Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.

? Solid word processing and computer database skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education and Experience

 

? Minimum of 2 years credit and collections experience

? HS diploma or Associates Degree

? Knowledge of Dun & Bradstreet and Great Plains a plus

? Knowledge in financial statement analysis desired

? Accounting background preferred

? Detail oriented and able to work in fast paced environment

? Excellent time management and good in multi-tasking

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills

? Able to meet deadlines
