PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Lead the development and implementation of the trade spending element of the team?s business plan by assigned operating group. Lead the development of new trade strategies that result in increased sales, increased profits and the reduction of costs. Responsible for development, deployment, compliance and settlement of assigned operating group trade plan by team utilizing operating group trade management systems. Identify the strategic needs of our customers and capitalize on those opportunities to drive volume, distribution, share and profit while staying consistent with corporate and team policies and guidelines.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for business development with assigned accounts within the team.
2. Develops promotional programs for team accounts.
3. Actively participates and assists account management personnel in the presentation of category strategies, plans and promotions.
4. Monitors account performance to ensure that sales and marketing objectives are being achieved in accordance with strategies. Insures field sales compliance with published trade spending guidelines.
5. Develops annual customer business plans by coordinating with customer, team personnel and the OG Business Development Directors.
6. Coordinates with sales management, support personnel, business development, account management, brand management and other HQ personnel on sales and brand issues.
7. Develops breakthrough account specific marketing programs; coordinates Company's Mega Events that drive additional volume and profit.
8. Creates presentation packages for new item introductions and line extensions.
9. Coordinates trade spending policy/procedures and account information to marketing department and other HQ group.
10. Analyzes and evaluates promotional effectiveness of sales and marketing programs. Analyzes current selling rates versus the business plan to develop sales forecast.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum BA/BS degree in business or related field with a minimum of 4+ years business management experience within one or more of the following areas: sales, marketing and trade marketing. 2+ years of account management and 2+ years of sales management of complex accounts and/or sales teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL LEVEL:
Has a working understanding of consumer buying behavior, so as to understand the account?s consumer database and how we can market towards that database to optimize sales. Ability to gather, coordinate, and manipulate data to support business trend reports and Company initiatives. Superior PC skills especially in Excel spreadsheet application. Exceptional analytical, communication, organizational and problem solving skills. Expertise of markets, retailers and brand strategies on a team level.
COMPENSATION:
Very lucrative compensation and bonus package.
