The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis provides senior financial leadership in the areas of planning & analysis, general accounting, and financial control to the Snack Foods organization.

Activities will include but are not limited to, timely & accurate profit estimates, identification and communication of potential risks and opportunities, yearly strategic & business plan modeling, objectives measurement & KPI reporting, SOX compliance and new platform/product modeling. This position serves as the key contact for the various functional business leaders and VP/SFO concerning financial and accounting issues.Responsible for the management and career development of the planning & analysis and General Accounting team. Activities will include but are not limited to, hiring, annual & mid-year performance reviews, development plans and salary management.

Function as the primary interface with Corporate accounting and the Financial Service Center (FSC).

Manage internal and external audit reviews and communication. Position is accountable for the results of both internal and external audit findings.

Provide timely and accurate sales and profit estimates on a regular and consistent basis.

Analyze and assess actual performance trends versus Plan and Prior Year objectives.

Proactively identify risks & opportunities to the Group's financials. Partner with the functional teams to make recommendations on ways to maximize profit potential.

Partner with functional teams to build/maintain competitive financial projections. Utilize this information to provide key insights into competitive activity.

Lead the functional teams in the preparation and presentation of the annual strategic and business plan models as well as quarterly forecast updates. Review financials for accuracy and conduct a risk assessment on the reasonableness of the financial projections.

Review Capital Investment Requests (CIR) to ensure earning projections are an accurate representation of project's potential. Provide any ad-hoc analysis needed to support the approval of the capital requests.

Provide functional teams direction on adherence to ConAgra Foods accounting policies and procedures.

Analyze monthly production costs and make recommendations on ways to maximize margins through activities such as SKU rationalization, cost reductions and pricing actions.

Proactively assess and make recommendations on ways to mitigate excess/obsolete inventories and Lower of Cost or Market write-downs. Ensure adequate accruals are in place for any known valuation issues.

Maintain expertise with Financial systems (i.e. Essbase, SAP Business Warehouse, TPS, etc)

Partner with or lead special project teams to assist management in the evaluation of key opportunities for the Snack Foods Group.

Maintain weekly management report of volume and profitability measures.

Support ad hoc analysis needed for various lines of business.

Validate month end P&L's and Balance Sheet to ensure transactions have been properly account for and recorded in the General Ledger.

Oversee legal/contract review and function as primary liaison to internal/external legal council and corporate contract oversight. Provide on-going support on contract negotiations, potential litigation, and/or other legal issues that may arise from time to time.Intimate knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Strong computer aptitude (both Microsoft applications and large ERP systems).

Relevant experience in a strategic business unit of a larger corporation or P&L responsibility for a smaller organization, and 10+ years of increasing accountability across a broad array of accounting/finance areas.

Prior experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organization is preferred.

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Additionally, candidates with an MBA and/or a CPA are very desirable.
