Director Scientific and Regulatory Affairs
COTT Beverages has an immediate opportunity for a Director Scientific and Regulatory Affairs located at our Research and Technical Center in Columbus, Georgia. The position will direct the Regulatory Affairs team in the assessment of various Federal, state and international laws and regulations as they apply to finished beverage labeling. Will interpret and apply regulations to the company?s portfolio of branded labels, development of new products and requests for regulatory interpretation to assist with label design and new product implementation.
Communicate with account staff concerning regulatory issues affecting finished beverage products.
Act as liaison and consultant for customers when issues arise regarding product labeling and regulations.
Analyze and track current industry trends to ensure company can be responsive to regulatory requirements. Research, interpret, and provide guidance on labeling issues that may arise during the course of product development.
Interpret FDA guidelines, Code of Federal Regulations and other US, Canadian, and international regulatory requirements as they relate to beverage manufacture and sales.
Conduct research on regulatory issues, changes in laws, regulations, etc.
Develop a positive and effective working relationships with US, Canadian, and International Regulatory Agencies.
Position requires a Bachelor?s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or other life science. Prefer advanced degree. Ten years experience in Regulatory Affairs interpreting and applying government regulations with expert knowledge of CFR 101 and FDA regulations related to the food and/or beverage industry is required. Qualified candidates must have five years effective management and supervisory experience. Demonstrated Project Management skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.
