Position Summary:

This is a newly created and highly visible positions.  In your role as Director of Global Sourcing and Purchasing your primary focus will be to build and maintain relationships with overseas suppliers, develop sourcing strategies and dramatically improve pricing schedules.  Your expertise and program development will have a significant impact on the overall financial success of the organization.

Basic Responsibilities:

Identify and develop a vast network of suppliers for all product categories within your catalog divisionUtilize expertise and understanding of cost structures to develop strategic sourcing plansServe as principle negotiator of all vendor contractsServe as principle negotiator of all vendor contractsSolicit competitive bids and conduct negotiations to obtain maximum valueDevelop purchasing policies and proceduresReview purchase orders and contracts for conformance to company policyResolve all quality assurance issuesDevelop schedules to assure on-time delivery of merchandiseProvide data on all current and future market conditionsDevelop a supplier evaluation process

Qualifications:10+ years of overseas sourcing and purchasing experience in IndiaPowerful negotiating skillsExperience in evaluating contract pricingAbility to identify alternate solutions to creatively solve problemsAbility to satisfy rigorous travel requirementsStrong organizational and communication skills
