Director of Advanced Development
Klipsch Audio Technologies seeks a Director of Advanced Development for our Engineering & Technology Center located at our worldwide headquarters in Indianapolis.
Primary responsibility would be to develop technologies and advanced products to the concept level and ensure these products apply to Klipsch and Jamo (newly acquired Danish audio company). Responsible for technology scanning, forging technical joint ventures, licensing technology, and directing advanced technical activities within Klipsch or outside the organization. Also responsible for driving the technical roadmap and coordinating common platforms between Klipsch, Jamo and other subsidiaries. Position is also responsible for investigating and solving product-related technical problems.REQUIREMENTSRequires Graduate Engineering, Technical or Physics Degree and over ten years of demonstrable experience in a research or development engineering position in a product development environment for consumer electronics. Also requires expertise in one or more of the following areas: Acoustics, Digital music systems (MP3), Wireless technology, Power electronics, Digital Signal Processing, or Distributed Audio/Video.
Must possess high level of creativity and systems thinking to generate new product concepts that addresses needs the Klipsch group can leverage to enter new categories. Must also be able to transfer these concepts into the product development process and influence Product Development, Marketing, and Engineering adoption.
Position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
