Director of Sales - Home Decor

Job Summary:

 

The Director will be responsible for directing and managing the sales activities for The Weston Gallery division as well as developing new business, and maintaining developing and growing existing customer base.  The position reports to the Vice President/General Manager, The Weston Gallery and will have direct reports. Externally, the position will have extensive contact with customers/ potential customers and their management. Internally, the position has extensive contact with the senior management of the company, its departmental staff, and with various departments within the division and the company overall.

 

Responsibilities:

 

?  Develop new business by identifying new and potential customers.

?  Maintain, develop and grow existing business and customer base.

?  Direct the sales activities of Independent Sales Reps.

?  Directly manage the sales activities of National Account Managers.

?  Establish and deliver the budgeted gross margins and sales numbers for The Weston Gallery.

?  Work with customers to identify their product needs and changes.

?  Work with Inventory, Demand Planning and Buying on forecasting matters along with reducing inventory dollars by identifying products that can be discontinued.

?  Work with Customer Service on supply chain issues and customer deduction problems.

?  Assist the Vice President/General Manager in identifying areas to meet budget goals and to grow the business.

?  Assist with related projects as needed.

 Requirements:

 

?  Bachelor Degree is required, preferably in Business

?  10+ years of sales experience in a home d?cor or consumer products environment with extensive people and sales management experience

?  Excellent management, sales, communication and organizational skills are required

?  Position does require extensive travel, primarily domestic

?  Good organizational skills and attention to detail

?  Results-oriented

?  Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and work well under pressure
