Director of Sales and Marketing

Our client is an industry leading manufacturer of high quality paper products that are sold into the office supply, mass merchandise, and specialty store retail chains.  We are seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing that will report to the General Manager.  This person will be responsible for the development and implementation of the sales plans to achieve the overall corporate goals.

 

Key responsibilities for this position include:

--Direct the sales forecasting activities and set performance goals for sales staff.

--Lead and direct the sales staff to achieve the sales plan.

--Manage existing market segments to maximize sales opportunities while identifying new market segments.

--Review analysis of existing markets to determine customer needs and pricing.

--Meet with key clients and assist sales staff with customer relationships, negotiations, and closing of deals.

--Approve budgets, expenditures, and research and development projects.

--Prepare monthly sales reports reflecting on sales potential and areas for expansion.

--Perform sales staff performance evaluations.

 

Qualifications need for this position include:

--A minimum of seven years in the paper or stationery industry with demonstrated ability to grow sales with emphasis in mass market accounts.

--Strong communication skills both written and oral and able to relate to individuals at all levels.

--Excellent organizational skills and able to manage several projects at one time.

--High energy, ambitious, self-starter, able to manage and motivate a successful sales staff.

--BA degree in Business or related field of study.

--Must have good problem solving skills.
