Maintenance Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the Yuma Maintenance department consisting of 4 supervisors, 4 forepersons, and a staff of 35+ highly-qualified maintenance mechanics, TO INCLUDE:Establish department expectations, develop accountability, manage downtime, and ability to help raise efficiencies in meeting business objectivesManage a multi-million dollar budget and inventory levels for the plantProvide customer service in maintenance excellence to other departments (i.e., Production, Materials, QA, Sanitation) on a required basis Manage and lead Maintenance programs such as Preventative Maintenance, Work Order Systems, Employee Development Programs, and Leadership TrainingSupport the business specifically around meeting production requirements in operating equipment in a cost-effective manner while maintaining high standards of Safety and QualityManage plant building grounds Maintenance and Environmental programs with external vendors and contractorsOther duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: 

EDUCATION:   4-year degree preferred in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or at least 10 years experience managing a Maintenance Department of at least 35 employees.

 

EXPERIENCE:    5-7 years Maintenance Management within a manufacturing environment preferably in the food industry and/or a cold room environment.  Experience in people development, performance reviews, and establishing training requirements.  Prior work in establishing and maintaining Maintenance Work Order Systems parts inventory, order tracking, PM programs and job assignment tracking desired.

 

SKILLS:    Knowledge of State and Federal Environmental programs, Safety, OSHA, and other regulatory programs.  Prior experience and knowledge of standard Maintenance programs (i.e., Preventative Maintenance, Work Order Systems, Downtime Tracking, Root Cause Analysis).  Strong communication and computer skills including CMMS, Microsoft Work, Excel and e-mail systems.  Lean manufacturing experience a plus.
