-To assure operational excellence of a world class demand planning process to drive the supply chain planning for the Spirits/Wines businesses.
-Manage the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by balancing supply and demand while challenging to provide realistic forecasts.
-To create and monitor process Key Performance Indicators and diagnostics to assure continual improvement efforts.
- To communicate Demand Chain forecast plans to the Supply Chain.

Decision Making


-The Demand Planning Manager will need to challenge bottom-up field sales forecasts provided by discerning exceptional differences between volume trends, financial targets, and various causal factors.
-The Demand Planning Manager will need to resolve situations where sales regions have exceeded product allocation targets or have unfulfilled their allocated goods sales targets.

Management Responsibilty


- Reports to the Director - Demand Planning.
- Pro-actively work with Sales and Network Supply to support their ownership of the forecast.
- Work closely with Supply Planners to identify and resolve exceptional changes in the forecast and anticipate their needs to communicate changes in the forecast across the Supply Chain.
- Manage the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, which provides a vehicle for evaluating, and determining future business decisions by reconciling demand to supply.
- Coordinate the consensus forecast which are the primary sub-process within the Demand Planning process and driver of the S&OP process.
- Work with Sales Cluster teams and Demand Planning Analysts to produce robust baseline depletions forecasts, which take into account distributor events and/or marketing activity plans.
- Calculate distributor shipments (ie. billings) plans utilizing consensus depletions forecasts, distributor inventory levels and collaborative order management programs.
- For items in a make-to-order process, manage forecast allocations within the ERP system based on input from clusters and communicates changes to Customer Operations.
- Participate in training, development, and performance appraisal activities for Demand planning team.

Complexity of Role


- Strong knowledge of time-series and causal forecasting methods and the understanding of how optimize model parameters.
- In-depth understanding of relevant demand drivers and how to apply the appropriate forecasting method to predict their impact in the ongoing forecast.
- Broad-based understanding of the Business Category Go-To-Market strategy and tactical implementation within the Diageo distributor base.
- Understanding of the Diageo business planning process and how the S&OP process fits within it.


Experience


- Three to five years experience within Demand Planning process area required
- Excellent analytical skills required
- In-depth knowledge of Manugistics preferred
- Basic understanding of the Conversion, Distribution Requirements Planning, Inventory Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, Procurement, Supplier Services, and Marketing processes required.
- In-depth knowledge of Sales Go-to-Market process preferred
- Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience - a plus
- Systems savvy, software application proficient required

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- MBA Degree preferred
- APICS CIPM Certification preferred.
