Oversee all QA functions for Lufkin, TX meat facility. Ensures food safety requirements are fulfilled. Maintain food safety programs including HACCP Plans, SSOP and company SOPs. Knowledge of sanitary design and sanitation standards is essential.
Work with in-plant regulatory personnel as well as plant management personnel to maintain compliance to regulatory policy.
Support R&D efforts to sustain current product formulations and specifications as well as the development of new products.
Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
Plan, promote and organize plant training related to product quality and reliability.
Investigate and answer customer complaints regarding quality. Leads a team to get to root cause through collaboration.
Manages a supervisor who supervises 8 employees and microbiologist. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.Required
BS Degree (Science or Food related discipline preferred)
3+ years quality with previous manager level experience.
