Marketing Manager, Retail

Basic Functions:

Develops and establishes strategic marketing plans.  Integrates retail products and/or functional activities to achieve business goals.  Manages and executes new sales and service initiatives for particular market.  Familiar with a variety of the field?s concepts, practices and procedures.  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Performs a variety of tasks.  Leads and directs the work of others.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.

Develops and executes marketing programs to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue, profitability and market share.

Plans and oversees execution of promotional activities including print, electronic media, trade shows and direct mail.

Negotiates contract terms and outside suppliers.

Is an active participant in New Product Development process

Analyzes marketing programs and adjusts strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.

Reviews analysis of marketing surveys on current and new product concepts in order to recommend future product development.

Works closely with sales team to understand specific customer needs.

Reviews alternate channels of distribution and sales vehicles.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor?s degree and at least 10 years of experience in the field required; MBA preferred.

At least five years experience in the Home center industry. Marketing plan execution with Home Depot is a MUST!

Must exhibit a wide degree of creativity and ability to think and act independently.

Previous management experience preferred
